The Holding Hour

Grieving The Life We Imagined.

a free virtual gathering for grief in its many forms.

Sometimes the life we're living looks different from the one we imagined.

A relationship we thought would last. A family we pictured differently. A version of ourselves we expected to become. A future that once felt certain.

And sometimes, even when there is beauty in the life we have, we can still grieve the one we thought we'd have.

The Holding Hour is a quiet place to make room for both.

What is the Holding Hour?

The Holding Hour is a free, virtual space to slow down and make room for whatever grief looks like for you today.

During our hour together, we’ll move through gentle grounding, reflection, creative practice, and optional conversation. There is no expectation to tell your whole story—or to share at all.

You can have your camera on or off. You can participate in every invitation, some of them, or simply listen. There is nothing you need to prepare.

You don’t need to know exactly what you’re feeling. You don’t need to make sense of your loss. You don’t need to find the lesson or the silver lining. You can simply come as you are.

This Month’s Gathering

Making Room for What Might Have Been

Not all grief comes from losing something we once had.

Sometimes we grieve what never happened. The experiences we hoped for, the relationships we imagined, the possibilities that changed, or the versions of our lives that never came to be.

These losses aren't always visible to others. Sometimes we don't even recognize them as grief ourselves.

During this Holding Hour, we'll gently explore the space between what we imagined and what is here now.

Not to find a silver lining. Not to force acceptance. And not to decide which version of our lives is better.

Simply to acknowledge that something mattered, even if it never became what we hoped.

What to Expect

Through gentle grounding, guided reflection, creative expression, somatic exploration, and optional sharing, we'll make space for the different feelings that can accompany an imagined future that has changed.

You don't need artistic experience or the right words.

You won't be asked to share your story or show anyone what you create.

Come with a piece of paper, something to write with, and whatever you're carrying.

You can participate in every invitation, some of them, or simply listen.

There Is Room Here

Whether you're grieving a relationship, an identity, a dream, a family experience, a future, or something you haven't quite found words for, you're welcome.

You don't have to stop appreciating the life you have to acknowledge the one you miss.
